Terms of Use
These terms apply to the Runtasy app and service, and to the runs you join through it. Runtasy is operated by Jun Kiat Koh in Singapore ("we", "us"). By creating an account or using the app, you agree to these terms and to our Privacy Policy.
Running safely
Runtasy is a physical game played in public parks. You take part at your own risk and you're responsible for your own safety.
- Only run if you're fit and well enough to. If you have a health condition or any doubt, check with a doctor first. Stop if you feel unwell.
- Watch where you're going, not just the screen. Look out for other park users, cyclists, vehicles, water and uneven ground.
- Follow park rules, signs and the instructions of park staff and run organisers. Stay on paths and within the play area, and never enter closed or private areas.
- Don't run in unsafe weather, such as lightning, heavy rain or haze.
- Game alerts and maps can be inaccurate. GPS drifts and paths can be closed or changed. Use your own judgement.
- Zombies infect survivors by scanning a code on their phone. Physical contact, grabbing and tackling are never part of the game.
Who can use Runtasy
You must be at least 13 years old. If you're under 18, you need a parent's or guardian's permission, and they accept these terms for you. Use one account, keep your email address current, and keep your phone secure. You're responsible for what happens on your account.
Fair play and conduct
Don't:
- cheat, for example by faking your location or interfering with other runners' codes;
- harass, threaten or endanger anyone, during a run or in the app;
- choose a name or handle that is offensive, misleading or impersonates someone;
- attack, overload, reverse-engineer or misuse the service, or use it to break the law.
We may remove offensive names, end a runner's game, or suspend or close accounts that break these terms.
Runs and events
Organisers schedule runs, open the gate and may end a game or cancel a run at any time, for example for safety or bad weather. Checking in needs your phone's precise location at the meeting place. Joining a run doesn't guarantee a place in a game.
Your content
Your display name and handle are visible to other runners. You keep any rights you have in them and give us permission to show them in the service.
The service
The app, game design, brand and software belong to us. We grant you a personal, non-transferable licence to use the app for your own non-commercial use. Park maps use data from NParks (Singapore Open Data Licence) and OpenStreetMap contributors (Open Database Licence). They may be incomplete or out of date.
We may change, pause or stop features or the service. We'll try to give notice of significant changes.
Disclaimers and liability
The service is provided "as is" and "as available". To the extent the law allows, we make no promises that it will be uninterrupted, error-free or accurate. We are not liable for injury, loss or damage arising from your participation in runs or use of the service, or for indirect or consequential loss. Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded or limited by law, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence.
Ending your use
You can stop using Runtasy and delete your account in the app at any time (You → Privacy → Delete account). We may suspend or close accounts that break these terms or put others at risk.
Apple
If you downloaded Runtasy from the App Store, these terms are between you and us, not Apple. Apple has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for the app and is not responsible for any claims relating to it. If the app fails to conform to any applicable warranty, you may notify Apple, and Apple's only obligation is to refund the purchase price, if any. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms and may enforce them against you. You also agree to Apple's Media Services terms.
Changes and law
We may update these terms. We'll change the date above and, for significant changes, tell you in the app. If you keep using Runtasy after a change, you accept the new terms. These terms are governed by the laws of Singapore, and the courts of Singapore have exclusive jurisdiction.
